As the drawbridge lowers, will you be in the frontline of those rushing out to sit down and enjoy that coffee in your favourite cafe? It is pleasing to know that we can slowly start to move about, but cautiously. Enduring the past three months clearly indicate that as a society we are looking at a lifestyle reset in our working lives, living practices and socially. We can do it!
Here’s a few things to look forward to …
‘Peaks, Wetlands and Rivers’
Part One – Mount Greenock
Time travel back 180 years to three seldom visited environments and events from the early contact period that marked the beginning of unimaginable loss and trauma for Dja Dja Wurrung people. The Hepburn Shire commissioned three videos for Reconciliation Week Tours, called ‘Peaks. Wetlands and Rivers’. Join Elder Uncle Ricky Nelson and Professor Barry Golding on these tours. Mount Greenock is the first of the series and we will post the second and third over the next couple of weeks. They are fascinating. Click on the link for the first tour. https://youtu.be/5aav2w6gNyk
… and you can start filling your diary.
This is a new event for the cycling enthusiasts coming to Creswick in October. This is just a heads up for your diary, but we will be bringing you more details over the next few weeks.
It looks like October is going to be busy. This sounds like fun and Harry Potter fans can catch up with the famous Weasley Twins at Kryal Castle.
Creswick Market Food Only now weekly
Creswick Market is now running a food only market each Saturday from 9am to 1pm. We’re not sure how long this will run, but it is great to meet the makers again.
There are still interesting things happening in Ballarat, especially as the eateries start opening up. Find out more at http://visitballarat.com.au
We’ll be back in spring!
As you will know, we had to cancel the Winter issue. But we are using the down time to work on a new look for the print magazine and the website. The refreshed design of Secrets is aimed to reflect the ‘new normal’ moving forward. We hope the changes to the website will be live at the end of July and the print copy of the magazine will be released on 15th September.
