One Small Step

Six years ago – spring 2014 to be precise, our cover featured this great image by photographer Kyle Behrend, courtesy of Edgar’s Mission. This was one of, if not the favourite covers we’ve had in the more than fifteen years of Secrets Magazine. As we are slowly, albeit cautiously emerging from the impositions of Covid lockdown, it really is a ‘one step at a time’ process. If we remain sensible, considerate and vigilant, those steps will become, two, then three and we’ll soon be running once again.

The Bendigo Region Beckons

Bendigo is a beautiful city that beckons the visitor at any time of the year. There is so much to do and see, however it isn’t all confined to the city itself. The Bendigo region is alive with gold rush villages and townships brimming with artisans, eclectic bookshops, vintage fashion and retro, antiques and collectables – more than enough to fill the days. Bendigo Tourism has developed four handy pocket guides to help develop your own trail. The guides can be picked up from Visitor Information Centres in the region or download your copy from here

Cave Hill Creek is open again

When you can travel, here’s an idea

Peter Fyffe is a winegrower and with wife Cherryl also an opal miner. Not content to just produce award winning wines, they have embraced their love of opal mining and travel to really “live the life”. Read their story here

Time to look ahead

We know this has been a shitty year and we are all looking forward to an end to it. Edgar’s Mission – a not for profit sanctuary for rescued farm animals, has produced a great calendar for 2021 – we just ordered ours.
We’re looking forward to hanging our calendar on 1st January and smiling each month with animal antics. ”If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others, why wouldn’t we!” Order your calendar here
