Whilst the throngs of Melbourne travellers are on hold for awhile, we are being told that we should encourage visitors from other regional areas. We are fortunate where we are – we’re not called Central Victoria for nothing – and our towns are easily accessed from around the rest of the state. Although we aren’t under the same restrictions as Melbourne, we still need to be Covid aware and follow the guidelines, so let’s welcome the Backyard Tourists.

It may be considered a little odd to open another store in the middle of a pandemic, but Bec Mason from The Farmer’s Wife in Creswick is about to do just that.
Bec has been thinking about opening in Daylesford for some time and now the right property has become available, this “you go girl” entrepreneur, who brought a touch of class to Creswick’s main street a few years back, is expanding the brand to the tourist town.
Bec plans to open the Daylesford store in early August as a sister to her flagship Creswick boutique. We’re sure she will do well. Watch this space for further details.
