Goodbye to June Hello July

As we say goodbye to June and welcome July, we still have two months of cold weather to endure.  Ok, accepted that the past week or so has been beautifully sunny, to this “winter wimp”, it’s like waiting for the “other shoe to drop”.  Already I am tired of dressing in layers, having constantly cold feet and dark skies by 5.30pm.  Yes I know, we have passed the solstice and days will gradually stretch out, but I’m a whinger and winter is my whinging season.  I need the courage and tiger stamina of stunning Maniki from the Ballarat Wildlife Park to carry me through. If you love winter, you have my admiration, but to those fellow winter whimps – we have to soldier on.

There is only a couple of weeks left to see this great exhibition.  Closing on 14th July, you still have time to catch it, but not long.  So jump on your trusty steed and head to Bendigo, it could be your last chance.  Tudors to Windsors traces the history of the British monarchy through the outstanding collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London.  This Australia exclusive exhibition at Bendigo Art Gallery highlights major events in British (and world) history from the sixteenth century to the present, examining the ways in which royal portraits were impacted by both the personalities of individual monarchs and wider historical change.
