Big Dance is the largest dance celebration in the world and it’s coming to Australia. Created by an Indigenous choreographer and a New Zealander, the dance is for all ages and abilities, including a seated option, with all invited to join. The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is hosting the Yellow Dot Exhibition, an auction evening where a cheaper entry fee covers drinks and nibbles and the full entry fee also includes one of the featured photographs. 30 April. https://ballaratfoto.org/yellowdot/ballarat/
WINE IN THE PARK
In case you missed it, the Stratagem Bendigo Winemakers Festival is this weekend. The wine tasting ticket includes tastings of regional wines, or a non-tasting ticket if you’d just like to take in the live music and festival atmosphere. Just a reminder that Plate Up Ballarat starts next Tuesday, showcasing the region and its incredible food, along with local venues, producers and suppliers. The Australian Chamber Choir are making their way to the goldfields especially for the Clunes Booktown weekend. These talented musicians will be performing a cappella works from the Italian, Spanish and English Renaissance. 5 May. On 6 May a Chamber Brass Concert will be performed by Kavanagh Brass.
