So many events on this weekend, it’s hard to keep track! Here’s our guide to the fantastic events on around the beautiful central highlands region. We’ve got festivals, music, gardens, exhibitions, shopping and some of the best in local wines, cider, craft beer and food!

KINGSTON OPEN GARDENS
This Saturday 18th November, three glorious gardens are open to the public for the first time. To add to the festive feel, there will be coffee, food, live music, plant sales and a book launch. RETHINK EXHIBITION – “WHAT IS RUBBISH?”
An exhibition held in Ballarat’s Trades Hall over the weekend from 17th to 19th November, featuring repurposed, recycled and reimagined objects, along with talks and workshops. Discarded or useless objects are given a new purpose as wearable fashion or works of art. http://junkies.com.au/events/

KNITTING A VISION AT TYLDEN
Tylden is a tiny spot at the crossroads that take you to Kyneton and Woodend.  It’s also where a unique and interesting oasis is developing.  Tylden Junction is a café and bar open for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 4pm with dinner in the bar Thursday to Sunday. AN EDIBLE ESCAPE AT REGIONAL WORLD’S LONGEST LUNCH BENDIGO
This one is a few months ahead, but it’s an event that is so popular it books out really, REALLY fast, so you need to get in early.  Indulge in a degustation menu with six courses from Wine Bank on View matched with a local Bendigo wine.  Tickets go on sale 28th November.  Presented by Bendigo Winemakers Association. www.bendigowine.org.au/events

LAKESIDE TWILIGHTS
Live Aussie music on the shores of Lake Wendouree. Icehouse, Diesel and Taxiride will be performing as part of Icehouse’s 40 Years Live Tour. This weekend – Saturday 18th November. www.lakesidetwilights.com.au/

VICTORIAN GOLDFIELDS RAILWAY
This weekend offers two fantastic events – on the train and alongside the train! Saturday is the Shedshaker Ales on Rails special. Castlemaine to Maldon with live music, craft beer and food! TRENTHAM TWILIGHT NIGHT

PATCHWORK TO PICKLES (PLUS PRINTMAKING!)

HANGING ROCK WINERY BECKONS
One of the best known wineries in Australia is Hanging Rock Winery, located near its famous namesake. Hanging Rock Winery’s cellar door is more than just a tasting place, it’s an experience.  It’s also part of this year’s Budburst Festival.  www.hangingrock.com.au

COPE WILLIAMS WINERY AND EVENTS

ENJOY GREAT BEER AND A MEAL & LEARN HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN
