A new market will debut in Bendigo this Sunday, showcasing the best locally made art and handicrafts. It’s the brainchild of longtime friends Shona O’Brien and Linda Whillance, the Bendigo mums recognising the abundance of artistic talent within the community and setting out to create a cool meeting place where people can not only buy beautiful creations, but also enjoy live music and good coffee.
Trove Makers’ Market will be packed with more than 40 stalls, with products ranging from quirky to classic; think ceramics, fashion, jewellery, cushions, throws and other decor to adorn your home. The market will be held at the Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery, under the heritage-listed building’s distinctive circular verandah. Combining great design with great coffee (Brewhouse Coffee is also across the road) and a community barbecue to boot, the pair are also supportive of local musicians. Talented artists of the musical variety are invited to perform at the market by filling in the Community Music Application Form on their website.
The Trove Makers’ Market will be held on the 3rd Sunday of every month (the launch market has been moved to this Sunday 27th due to Easter Sunday), from 10am to 2pm. The Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery is at 404 Hargreaves Street, Bendigo.
